Gems and Crystals really captures the magic responsible for mankind's obsession with gem minerals. I highly recommend this book to anyone with a passion for gems. Gemstones: Symbols of Beauty and Power by Eduard J. Gubelin, Franz-Zaver Erni Beautifully photographed and written by the world's foremost gemstone authority, Eduard Gubelin. What more could you ask for? Gemstones by Cally Oldershaw Breathtaking color photos capture the glistening beauty of gemstones from around the world--stones used for jewelry and magical rites as far back as 20,000 years ago. Published in cooperation with the British Museum of Natural History. Gemmology by Peter G. Read Read, a writer and lecturer on gems and gem test equipment (which he also designs), offers an updated edition of his 1991 reference, written for both beginning and advanced students. The book is incredibly comprehensive and very well priced. Gemstones of the World, Revised Edition by Walter Schumann With a million copies in print, this is a well priced and comprehensive book. It covers natural stones as well as imitations, synthetics, and combined stones. More than 1,500 photos are showcased! A real value! Gems: Their Sources, Descriptions and Identification... by Robert Webster, Peter G. Read (Editor) This book, now in it's 5th Edition, is universally recognized as the most comprehensive and authoritative treatise on gem materials in the English language. It is well worth the cost! The Spectroscope and Gemmology by James Payne, R. Keith Mitchell, Basil William Anderson This book is well written and illustrated.
